W. Steele is the man on the decks as well as behind the scenes.

Not only has he been DJing for over fifteen years, W. Steele is also a hardworking and acclaimed producer. His passion and commitment to music has taken him all across the country to DJ at numerous venues. Throughout his travels, he has also had the opportunity and pleasure to collaborate with a wide variety of artists to bring different musical ideas together.

Steele moved to upstate New York in early 1999 to be closer to the birthplace and heart of hip-hop music. During his stay, he became a strong part of an underground hip hop collective known as Pitch Control Music and found himself in Manhattan’s studios with greats such as Pete Rock and Ge-ology.

W. Steele has honed his skills as an impressive producer. He has produced multiple full length projects on top of a handful of EP’s with a varying assortment of East Coast and West Coast artists. He has been featured on many artists’ albums including Awar, Dez (Dezinated) , ILLType, Type: Official, and Sev Statik. On the West Coast, he has two tracks on the group The Upstarts’ album, one of which had a feature with Sleeping Giant Music’s own Blest.

Upon returning to San Diego permanently, Steele became a member of the Sleeping Giant Music talent roster. Being apart of such a professional environment has helped him broaden his musical scope and developed him into a successful open format DJ. Steele’s passion for music production and engineering drives him to continuously practice and progress as a DJ and producer, which will keep him in the game for years to come.
